Days after the random video surfaced on social media showing the former couple having an altercation in the elevator of Saweetie’s North Hollywood apartment, the LAPD reportedly began an investigation into the events that took place before and after the incident.
According to TMZ, detectives had seen the footage and were planning to speak with all sides individually to investigate the event.
Per sources, the case was going to be classified as domestic violence, in which both sides are at fault. However, per TMZ, the case was handed over to the L.A. City Attorney’s Office who ultimately declined to file any charges against the former couple.
According to reports, based on the evidence, i.e. surveillance video from the incident, there was very little chance of a conviction if it had moved to court.
It was evident that both artists were looking to move on from that time of their life with Quavo saying at the time, “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”
Finally, the drama between the two has seemingly passed and Saweetie has been making major moves in her career since their public split.
