Following Carti’s 2018 debut studio album ‘Die Lit’ is the rappers latest offering ‘Whole Lotta Red’ which debut aboard the Billboard 200 at #1, marking his first-ever number 1 as well as Billboards first number 1 for 2021.

‘Whole Lotta Red’ boasts impressive features from the likes of Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Future with production from Pi’erre Bourne. The impressive debut manages to push out Taylor Swift’s ‘Evermore’ which reigned atop the charts for several weeks following its release.

In a very tight race, Lil Durk’s ‘The Voice’ album lost the second spot to Taylor Swift’s ‘Evermore’ coming in at #3 from #46 which in itself is a strong leap for the rapper. The massive soar up the charts was due to the Dec. 24th release of ‘The Voice’ which amassed 23,000 units in the only day of activity that was counted by Billboard towards the week.

Per Billboards report, Whole Lotta Red amassed 100,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 10,000 from album sales and 90,000 from streaming, which comes out to 126.43 million on-demand streams.
