Drake is said to be gearing up for the release of his NOCTA label under Nike as they are officially in the rollout phase but if you ever wondered about the rumours that he had a deal with Adidas, Pharrell just confirmed.

Per Sole Collector, sources shared that Drake was allegedly in talks to leave his partnership Jordan Brand back in 2018, to sign a huge deal with Adidas. Drake after this report was spotted wearing Adidas apparel more frequently as well as Kanye West’s Weezy in some cases. This continued until the feud with Pusha T began.

During the heated beef, Pusha in response to Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle” diss track, released “The Story of Adidon which revealed to the world that Drizzy had a son whom he was keeping a secret and also made mention of “Adidon”. Apparently, the word was in reference to Drake’s then-upcoming Adidas deal which he had named after his son Adonis. Moments after the song was dropped, all rumours and signs of any deal with the mega-brand just stopped.

Now years later, Pharrell who is a friend of both rappers has confirmed during his recent appearance on Drink Champs that indeed Drake had a deal with Adidas.

“He did. He did have a deal there. But again, all of this was unbeknownst to me,” said Pharrell. “Drake told me that he had a situation there, but I didn’t know that any of this would ever come up.”

This confirmation will come as the only real evidence that Drake had a deal with Adidas besides Pusha T’s song.

Fans may wonder what could have been if the rapper had moved to the Adidas world, as it was reportedly supposed to give Drake more control over his product just as he is now supposedly doing with his NOCTA brand.
