Sunday night’s Verzuz battle between legendary singers Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight was one of the most powerful Verzuz battles yet.
The pair first took the chance to catch up and reminisce about their history together, while the whole event saw them continually share words of wisdom to viewers.
The highlight was a special appearance by fellow icon Dionne Warwick, who joined the ladies to perform ‘Superwoman’ and ‘That’s What Friends Are For.’ They also sang some of their biggest hits including ‘Midnight Train to Georgia,’ ‘Love,’ ‘Need and Want you,’ ‘Neither One of Us’ and ‘Somebody Loves You Baby.’
Fans loved everything about the showdown which took place at Philadelphia’s Fillmore Theater. The likes of Michelle Williams, Affion Crockett, Missy Elliot, Brandy, Oprah Mariah Carey, Monica, Lena Waithe, Jennifer Lopez, Michelle Obama, Gabrielle Union, Octavia Spencer, Rosario Dawson, Jesse Williams, Andy Cohen, and over 600,000 others tuned in for the special occasion.
