The Jeanne Larson petition has crossed half of the target with 1,579,927 signatures signed at the time of writing. This comes after news of Jonny Depp being replaced by Mads Mikkelsen in the latest Fantastic Beasts movie.
The total amount of targeted pledge is 3 million and Larson is hoping this petition will have Amber Heard removed from the upcoming movie, in which she played Mera. Jeanne claims Amber is a “known and proven domestic abuser” and that she is a liar.
In the description of her petition, Larson writes: “Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry. “Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.“
However, Justice Andrew Nicol decreed on November 2nd that claims of Jonny Depp being a “wife-beater” was “substantially true” as written by The Sun.
Aquaman 2 is set for a 2022 release Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson set to retain their roles from Aquaman 1. DC and Warner Bros. have yet to comment on the matter.
