As previously reported, OnlyFans released a statement blaming their supporting banks for the recently announced decision to ban “sexually explicit conduct,” on the platform, which was subsequently condemned for its possible impact on the livelihoods of sex workers.
Taking to social media, OnlyFans thanked everyone for “making your voices heard” in a tweet on Wednesday, adding that they had since “secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community.” Additionally, OnlyFans has “suspended the planned October 1 policy change.”
Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.

OnlyFans founder and CEO Tim Stokely fought back against accusations that investment-related considerations influenced the decision during an interview with Patricia Nilsson for the Financial Times earlier this week.
Stokely said on Tuesday: “This decision was made to safeguard their funds and subscriptions from increasingly unfair actions by banks and media companies — we obviously do not want to lose our most loyal creators.”
Several other platforms issued statements explaining the benefits creators will have if they sign up with them in the middle of the social media outcry over the initially planned ban, with many even promising a lower fee rate in comparison to OnlyFans’ 20% cut from creators earnings. UNLOCKD, an app identical to OnlyFans, declared a 15% fee, while rapper Tyga’s upcoming site ‘Myystar‘ stated a 10% fee.
