RMARNI – SO HIGH
Beautiful tones, smoothly contoured melodies, and riveting lyricism make for a powerful debut for Rmarni in her song So High. The Dudley songwriter gets it the right first time with her song laying out an expressive masterplan.
As she mentioned in her interview, the song for her is all about understanding where she was and where she is today, being able to recall the highs and the lows of love, and being content with where she is now.
BE CHARLOTTE – YOU STOLE SUMMER
Be Charlotte’s latest single, You Stole Summer, is truly a low-key breakup song, along with acoustic guitar, a wee bit of echo, then complemented by some piano and double-tracked backing vocals.
The artist’s voice—subtle yet determined on this song, mentioning fake smiles and deciding that sun shines better without you in my life. The song is surely a kiss-off to the ill-fated target but still sounds dreamy and beautiful.
DREYA MAC – TIME
The London-based dancer turned rapper Dreya Mac has made quite the impression with just a handful of singles. Bringing her stimulating sounds to Colors, the singer serves up a smooth performance of a new single, Time.
The song is yet another awesome banger from beginning to end with production courtesy of JONAH laying down a flawless, bass-heavy beat.
MYCHELLE – LIFE ISN’T
Mychelle’s new song Life Isn’t captures the endless meaning of human interactions as an immersive experience. Her music delves under the surfaces, with appealing textures, rising melodies, and probing, observant lyrics.
The singer and songwriter from Hackney stepped out with the delightfully downbeat and has gifted her fans with another blissfully mellow tune for her EP, Closure. According to Mychelle, she wrote Closure at home last June during the lockdown. The combination of jazzy seventh chords and vocal lines brings out non-chord tones that are good to hear.
