We’re nearing the end of summer but we’re still bringing on the heat with a brand new list of new talent in On Repeat. The weekly list showcases the latest and upcoming artists that you need to hear, and add to your playlist. This week features JBee with Crystal Millz, Aylø, K Harrison and Morgan Munroe. JBEE & CRYSTAL MILLZ – CHANGED
Jbee and Crystal Millz used a traditional rap style to convey a narrative about a strained relationship in “Changed.” It is also highlighted in the accompanying FACES-shot visuals. The two artists also showcase their synergy as a duo along with their smooth exchange of bars and flows, as well as highlighting their storytelling expertise.
AYLØ – TEKKERS
Nigerian R&B and alternative singer, songwriter, and producer AYLØ have arrived with his newest album, ‘For Good Reasons.’ On the album opener ‘Tekkers,’ the artist quips in the chorus of the song, “please don’t regret this, for the money I’ve been recklessly/body been a temptress, tekkers, lessons and I’ve been attentive,” suggesting where his mind has been and what he has been up to. With his body of work, AYLØ has proven he is at a different level in his music career.
K HARRISON – VENENO
K Harrison’s new song “Veneno” is the ideal continuum from his previous single. The artist stayed true to the Latin-infused rap style everyone has grown to know and love. The track offers laid-back beach vibes, along with a soundscape made through sultry, soft guitar, upbeat vocals, and the traditional sound of Latin America. The song brings you to turquoise waves and golden sands. In short, the perfect summer.
MORGAN MUNROE – SPACE
London-based artist Morgan Munroe drops her new single, “Space,” which flips the script on misplaced labels surrounding women in love. The singer expressed the feeling of getting turned off by somebody coming on too strong, too soon. Her relatable and playful songwriting, combined with her marvellous vocal range, makes her stand out, oozing a strong combo of masculine and feminine energy.
