For the fourth time since its debut, the ‘Good 4 u’ singer’s debut album Sour has been the number one album in the country, becoming the first female artist to do so with a debut album since 2009.

Susan Boyle previously held the feat, with her debut ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ topping the Billboard 200 for five non-consecutive weeks. At the time, Sour’ garnered 83,000 equivalent album units in the United States and remained at number one for a second week, beating off Doja Cat’s Planet Her, which remained at number two, and Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost, which fell to number six.

Rodrigo’s debut continues to be a hit, despite plagiarism allegations swirling around her. Both Courtney Love and Elvis Costello drew comparisons between their songs and that of the ‘Driver’s License’ singer, albeit Costello was more sympathetic to her efforts.

“This is fine by me, Billy,” Costello replied to a Twitter user who pointed out that Rodrigo’s song “Brutal” sounded eerily similar to Costello’s 1978 smash “Pump it Up.” Adding, “It’s how rock and roll works. You take the broken pieces of another thrill and make a brand new toy. That’s what I did.”
