Olivia Rodrigo has announced Daisy Chain Fields, an all-women festival set for August 29th in Irvine, California. The lineup includes Stevie Nicks, Chappell Roan, Doechii, K-pop group Katseye, Rachel Chinouriri, and Sarah McLachlan. One hundred percent of net profits will go to charities advocating for women and girls. All the artists performing are doing it without taking payment.

Rodrigo said she has been dreaming about doing this festival for years. She named it Daisy Chain Fields because she wanted something that reflected the lineup “being strong and beautiful together.” The vibe, she said, is “hippie girl, riot grrrl punk type of thing — like flower child meets riot grrrl.” The promotional artwork features pins with slogans like “Bans off our bodies,” which ties the festival directly to abortion rights advocacy.
Sarah McLachlan, who founded Lilith Fair, the all-women festival that ran through the 1990s and 2000s, serving as a direct inspiration for Rodrigo, will be making an appearance. Rodrigo is building on something that mattered, not just creating something new, she implies. “I just feel like we need something really positive to do and see, and young girls need awesome role models who are supporting other women and who are engaging in something that’s really joyful and musical and community-oriented,” she said.
The announcement arrives off the back of her third album You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love topping UK charts, nearly a year after she headlined Glastonbury.
