The Migos rapper has landed himself a major role in the upcoming STXfilms drama ‘American Sole’, joining the previously announced cast Pete Davidson, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Camila Mendes.

The movie was written and will be directed by Ian Edelman has an interesting plot, to say the least, with two youngsters in their 20’s having mountains of college debt, trying to use the fast cash of after-market sneaker reselling to achieve their American dream. But their start-up quickly running out of cash pushes Davidson and Jackson to accept funds from a shady investor as he’s their only way out. Their American dream then becomes a nightmare.

Chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group, Adam Fogelson speaks on having Offset on board saying: “To have Offset joining our team is a dream scenario, “Offset’s character is important to the storyline and we couldn’t be more excited to have him working with us behind the scenes as he works with Ian and the team at STX to help us define the sound of this film. We could not be in better hands.”

The Migos rapper also said: “This is my first feature film as an actor. After doing NCIS, I knew I wanted to do more acting. Landing this role in American Sole is dope. Not only do I get to star in the movie, but I get to bring my skills to the table as the curator and executive producer for the soundtrack. I’m bringing my world to the big screen. I hope the world is ready.”

Kevin Hart will be producing the movie through his production company HartBeat, along with Jake Stein of Scondo Productions and NBA All-Star and first-time producer Chris Paul through his Ohh Dip!!! Banner. The project will be overseen by Drew Simon and Patricia Braga for STXfilms and HartBeat’s Bryan Smiley will executively produce.

Furthermore, Offset will be playing a double role as he will collaborate with Edelman and STX Music executive Jason Markey to executive produce the American Sole: The Soundtrack Album, which will also include at least one original song.

Offset is making big moves in his solo career, whilst still being a part of the MIGOS group.

We can sincerely say we are excited about this movie.
