After multiple successful releases of hit singles including “Red Flags,” “Girlfriend,” and “Asiwaju,” Nigerian Afro-Dancehall star Ruger has unveiled the title of his long-awaited debut studio album, “Ru The World.”

Ruger, 22, has captivated music lovers with his rhythmic dancehall compositions that are filled with Afro tones, as he marvels at his writing gap, which also stands as the major distinction between the previous generation of singers and the rising new age of Afrobeats.

Ruger had his breakthrough with the release of his 2020 self-titled EP, which quickly garnered a large following for the burgeoning artist and convinced many music fans of his capability to raise the bar for Nigerian music.

Songs like “Dior” and “Girlfriend” off his second EP, “Second Wave,” not only earned him worldwide acclaim from fans but also further cemented his own identity.

Closing off 2022 with “Asiwaju,” Ruger brought an amazing year to an impressive end, with the track making it to many playlists worldwide.
