Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls has called rumors that she reneged on an agreement to appear on a reunion tour “ludicrous and false.”
According to reports this week, Nicole is being sued by Robin Antin, the band’s choreographer and founder, for allegedly abandoning a previously announced tour.
However, Scherzinger’s lawyer has recently stated that such commitments “simply do not exist,” adding that the legal case was a “desperate attempt to divert blame.”
Mr. King said: “Robin will fail in her efforts to trade on Nicole’s hard-earned success to pull herself out of a deep financial hole she has created by her own poor business and professional decisions,” he said in a statement to the BBC.
“Nicole loves and respects the PCD fans and hopes to one day be back on stage performing the group’s amazing hits for them… Sadly, this will not happen under these circumstances.”
Scherzinger requested to modify the reunion agreement to give her creative freedom and a larger portion in the group’s new business endeavor, according to legal documents filed by Antin.
The Pussycat Dolls announced their reunion for a live tour in November 2019, a decade after they disbanded.
The tour was expected to see five of the six Dolls return for a series of live UK gigs, with Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Kimberly Wyatt, and Jessica Sutta to perform classics like ‘Buttonz,’ ‘Don’t Cha,’ and ‘Jai Ho.’
