A Los Angeles judge is weighing whether to order the forced sale of Nicki Minaj’s $20 million Hidden Hills mansion to satisfy a $500,000 default judgment owed to a security guard injured during a 2019 backstage confrontation.
Judge Cindy Pánuco said her tentative decision is to approve the sale, but she will not issue the final order until receiving a Bank of America mortgage statement detailing Minaj’s payments and interest accrual since 2022. A follow-up hearing is scheduled for January 22th, 2026.
The underlying case stems from an incident at Minaj’s Frankfurt concert, where security guard Thomas Weidenmuller says he intervened after Minaj berated a female colleague. According to the suit, Minaj threw a shoe that missed, and her husband Kenneth Petty then punched Weidenmuller in the face. The blow shattered his jaw, leading to multiple surgeries, a 10-day hospital stay, five permanent plates, and donor bone implants as part of an ongoing reconstruction. Minaj and Petty never responded to the 2022 lawsuit, resulting in the default judgment now at issue.
Minaj’s mansion carries a $13.3 million mortgage lien and a $722,151 homestead exemption, leaving an estimated $6 million in net proceeds—well beyond what is needed to pay the judgment. In court filings, Weidenmuller’s council argue that the forced sale is necessary only because Minaj, whose net worth is reportedly around $150 million, has ignored repeated requests for payment and levies issued to potential creditors.
Judge Pánuco emphasized that the missing mortgage documentation is the final requirement before ruling, noting she wants to ensure the sale will reasonably cover all obligations. She also acknowledged potential scenarios where an auction might not reach fair market value, stressing the need for complete financial clarity.
The case unfolds against a broader backdrop involving Petty, who has a criminal history that includes a 1995 attempted rape conviction and later charges for failing to register as a sex offender in California. He also faces a separate sexual-assault lawsuit from Jennifer Hough.
For now, the court awaits the bank statement—but all indications suggest the judge is prepared to authorize the sale unless new information changes the calculation.
