Fans of The Matrix universe have been appropriately excited about the anticipated arrival of a new franchise chapter, despite not having Laurence Fishburne, nearly two decades after the end of the original Matrix trilogy.
To play Neo and Trinity, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprise their roles, along with newcomers like Candyman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Other actors expected to appear in ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ include Jada Pinkett Smith and Daniel Bernhardt, Lambert Wilson, Jessica Henwick, Priyanka Chopra, Jonathan Groff, Eréndira Ibarra, and more.
Fans have long been speculating on who Yahya’s character in the film could be, following the announcement of the actor joining the cast, and the new teaser for the anticipated sequel gives us our first look. See below for the trailer.
The Matrix Resurrections’ is slated to premiere in theaters starting December 22nd and will also be available to stream simultaneously on HBO Max.
