Christina Aguilera previously had a six-year hiatus between the release of her 2012 (‘Lotus’) and 2018 (‘Liberation’) albums, after which she pledged to never do it again.

And, it would seem that might just be the case If the words of Federico Vindver, who is the music producer, currently assisting her in the forthcoming project are to be considered.

Despite being “months away” from an official announcement, Xtina told “Health” magazine in April that she was working on two new albums (an English and Spanish effort) and GRAMMY-winning songwriter-producer Federico Vindver has confirmed the release is indeed happening this year.

Speaking in a recent sit-down with the folks at MusicRadar, Vindver dished on the current status of Christina’s forthcoming studio album.

“We’re finishing the Justin Timberlake album and it’s beautiful. Super enjoyable. And I’m also finishing Christina Aguilera’s album which will also be out this year.”

Although there hasn’t been any official comment from Xtina’s team, Vindver’s comments are sure to pick interest.
