The new MTV documentary starring Amy Winehouse’s friend and goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield, will be released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of her death.
The ‘Rehab’ singer lost her life due to alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011, and now, a decade later, in “Amy Winehouse & Me: Dionne’s Story,” her goddaughter is prepared to open about the devastating loss.
I’m so excited to share with you all that for the last few months I have been working on an incredibly special and personal documentary showing the loving and caring side to the Amy I knew so well 💕

Bromfield will share anecdotes about their strong friendship and reflect on Winehouse’s impact in the 60-minute film, which will contain never-before-seen video footage of the two throughout the years.
Speaking in a statement ahead of the release, Bromfield shares:
“I can’t tell you now just how therapeutic this journey has been for me. Finally, I can move forward into the next chapter of my career knowing that I have dealt with emotions that have been buried for years.
“I hope this documentary shows Amy as more than just a person struggling with addiction and instead showcases the amazing person my godmother was.”
According to Billboard.com, “Amy Winehouse & Me: Dionne’s Story” will premiere on different MTV networks around the world on July 23, then on MTV U.K. on July 26th, before showing on the Paramount+ streaming service in Australia, Canada, Latin America, and Northern Europe later this summer.
Another project set to be released in honour of the British singer is “Amy Winehouse: 10 Years On” which is helmed by Amy’s mother Janis.
