Amid backlash over DaBaby’s startling homophobic and anti-HIV statements onstage at Rolling Loud Miami, Miley Cyrus joins the slew of celebrities to address the subject but in a completely unique way to the rest.

As widely reported, the rapper was met massive backlash following his statements which resulted in him being booted from multiple festivals, pulled from promotions, and criticized by fellow artists such as Madonna, Elton John, Dua Lipa, Chris Brown, and more.

Amid all the chaos, however, the ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker is adopting a different strategy than the majority as she took to social media to criticize cancel culture while promoting “education, conversation, communication, and connection.”

Taking to her Instagram account, Miley wrote:

“@DaBaby check your DMS – would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future! For more info @greaterthanaids is a great resource! 🌈💕 @happyhippiefdn”

Although many appreciated Cyrus’ stance and approach to the situation, many more remain unconvinced. Instead, they’re pointing to DaBaby’s seeming self-victimization in his slew of half-baked apologies. Statements that only began to confront the gravity of his statements amid seismic social media backlash.
