Michael B. Jordan is reportedly working on his own spin on “Superman,” with a narrative centered on the “Val-Zod” version of the Man of Steel!, which is being penned by Ta-Nehisi Coates.

According to Collider, the “Creed” actor is creating a superhero series for HBO Max and might perhaps appear in it.

His take on Superman, as Kal-El, is considered to be based on the Val-Zod version of the character, who, like the original Superman, is from Krypton but escaped the planet’s destruction.

His Superman also does end up on earth though, but this time, he will hide out until he is called to fight a Superman who has been brainwashed.

Renowned film director J.J. Abrams is also working on a black “Superman” film for Warner Bros., which will follow the traditional Kal-El/Clark Kent version of the superhero, but starring a black actor.

According to earlier reports, Jordan collaborated with Warner Bros. on producing a black Superman film. He later denied reports that suggested he would feature in Abrams’ film earlier this year, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m flattered that people have me in that conversation. It’s definitely a compliment, but I’m just watching on this one.”
