Despite contradicting reports, an autopsy has now confirmed the manner in which the Ruff Ryder legend lost his life.

According to earlier reports, cocaine played a part in the death of X but the reports were heavily denied by the rapper’s family and attorneys at the time.

DMX’s heart attack was caused by a lack of blood circulation to his brain after using too much of the lethal drug, according to the Westchester County medical examiner’s office.

A source from the medical office said: “It was cardiac arrest for a period of time, so there was no circulation to the brain,” adding that X was extremely high which inevitably “caused this chain of events.”

The source went on: “His death literally happened immediately because the brain was dead,” the source said. “So obviously, there were a number of days where he was on ventilatory support and so forth in the hospital. However, he was diagnosed brain-dead early on … He never woke up from [a] coma.”

Per reports, someone notified the paramedics at 10:03 pm and by 10:09 p.m., an ambulance had arrived on the scene. Paramedic’s efforts to revive X around 10:10 pm came to no avail.

According to Vulture.com: “There was about a 30-to-40-minute interval between the arrival of paramedics and Simmons’s arrival at the hospital. Although his heart was revived at one point and there was a pulse, his brain was already dead.”

This report backs up suspicions that DMX’s family and attorneys have denied in the past.
