Matthew Perry and Molly Hurwitz have called off their engagement, approximately seven months after the Friends actor announced his engagement.

Perry acknowledged in a statement to People that the two had chosen to part ways. He said, “Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them.” “I wish Molly the best.” Perry hasn’t given any more explanation as to the cause of the breakup.

The pair had been dating since 2018, and in November 2020, they announced their engagement. Perry told People at the time, “I decided to get engaged.” “Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”

The couple’s breakup comes about a month after a 20-year-old TikTok user called Kate Haralson stated she matched with Perry on the high-profile dating app Raya when she was 19 years old in May 2019.

Haralson also released a clip of herself and Perry playing 20 questions during a FaceTime call where Perry was seen asking her if he was as old as her father at one point in the talk, and he recommended she come over after she was vaccinated at another.

Following the post, fans of the actor attacked Haralson, calling her a bully and to her defense, she told Page Six: “A lot of people were saying I’m a bully and mean for posting this, and it made me feel kind of bad, but at the same time, I feel like a lot of guys in Hollywood are talking to all these young girls and it’s something that I think a lot of people should be aware of.”

This is just another of recent concerns the Friends actor has faced, as fans showed concern for Perry’s seemingly slurred speech during the previews for ‘Friends Reunion.’ However, it was apparently the result of a dental surgery the actor had undergone prior to the interview.

Touching on his mental health during the reunion preview, about filming in front of a live audience, Perry said: “I felt like I was going to die if they didn’t laugh.”

“It’s not healthy for sure. But I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn’t laugh and I would sweat and just go into convulsions. If I didn’t get the laugh I was supposed to get, I would freak out… I felt like that every single night.”
