According to TMZ, Mathew Knowles stated that the trio will not be reuniting anytime soon. Fans observed that the headers of the official Destiny’s Child social media accounts had been altered, which sparked rumors about a possible reunion.
According to reports, the image changes on social media which brought about the speculations were part of a random update that wasn’t requested by Mathew Knowles.
Destiny’s Child was rumored to be reuniting for another tour in 2019, after Mathew Knowles appeared on Tamron Hall’s talk program, where he explored the possibility of Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle collaborating on new songs.
“I still officially manage [Destiny’s Child]. Every day I have the responsibility of licensing. I have a lot of responsibilities that folks don’t know,” said Mathew Knowles. He added about a potential reunion, “I do have impact in that decision. I do.”
The beloved group released their self-titled debut album back in 1998, consisting of members Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson.
2 years later, Farrah Franklin and Michelle Williams replaced LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. Soon after, Farrah Franklin departed the group, leaving the three-woman ensemble to hold down the fort for years to come.
Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams reunited in 2013 for the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, as well as Beyoncé’s headline performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2018.
