Marvel has released an exciting trailer for its first Muslim superhero, called ‘Ms. Marvel,’ ahead of the original series’ June 8th release date.

Iman Vellani plays Muslim American girl Kamala Khan (a.k.a. Ms. Marvel) in the series. The series will follow Kamala as she navigates the challenges of high school while also dealing with the peculiar expectations that come with developing superpowers.
Vellani will be joined by the likes of Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Matt Lintz, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, and others as cast with Bisha K. Ali, serving as head writer for the series. Meera Menon, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah will also serve as directors for the initial batch of episodes.
Following the June 8th premiere on Disney+, Vellani will reprise her role as the titular character in the forthcoming film ‘The Marvels,’ directed by Candyman’s Nia DaCosta, which is scheduled to be released in February 2023.
