Prior to the 25th-anniversary celebration today (Sept. 16), Mariah Carey announced her expanded edition to her classic studio album, ‘Butterfly,’ which debuted atop the Billboard 200 decades ago.

Sharing the exciting news about her anniversary and the upcoming release, Carey admitted that ‘Butterfly’ had always served as her “favorite” project and also her “most personal album.”

The 20-track release will include 4K versions of previously released singles, “Honey” and “The Roof,” with the former also serving as a basis of a documentary. The project will also feature 8 new tracks which pay homage to the era. Additionally, the release comes with fresh ‘Butterfly’ merch and upgraded vinyl and cassette-tape copies.

Adding, “I poured into every lyric and every note on every song. 25 years later, it’s still one of the proudest moments of my life & career. To celebrate #Butterfly25, I’m releasing new remixes, live performances, acapellas & a new version of “The Roof” with the one and only @4everBrandy!”
