The multi-Grammy Awarded-singer/songwriter sent the internet into a frenzy after she announced on social media that her first single in two years is set to drop later this month.

Lizzo took to her official Instagram account to inform her fans of the imminent release, with the caption:

“NEW ERA B*TCH. ‘RUMORS’. 8/13. 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫.”

The accompanying photo saw the “Good as Hell ” hitmaker adorn a sparkly no-hands dress with illustrious jewelries worn by royalties, as she poised with a finger on her lip, asking fans to hold their horses. As though that would stop the excitement felt across the internet.

Prior to Lizzo dropping the announcement of her new song ‘Rumors,’ the femcee teased she was about to break the internet when she dropped a post that features the “SHHHHHHHH” emoji, along with the caption:

“Don’t even like this post cus you REALLY gon like my post tomorrow 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫 #shhhhhhhhhhhh.”

Of course, Lizzo sent her fans and fellow artists into a frenzy before finally announcing ‘Rumors’ which fans can’t wait to hear. However, the femcee has also alluded to a “new era,” similar to what The Weeknd has teased for weeks now and that keeps us very much excited for what’s next.

A little over two years ago, Lizzo debuted her breakthrough album, ‘Cuz I Love You,’ which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and featured Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping songs including “Good as Hell” and “Truth Hurts.” With such high-anticipation for “Rumors,” which is slated to be released on August 13th, the femcee is poised to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Coming soon are a slew of live performances from the “Truth Hurts” hitmaker, including appearances at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Sept 4th, serving as the first ever female-headliner for the 4-day festival. Other shows include a performance at Global Citizen Live on Sept. 25th, Firefly Music Festival on Sept. 26th, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on Oct. 8th, and Outside Lands on Oct. 29th.
