Lil Uzi Vert appears to be hard at work on his new album, ‘The Pink Tape,’ as the rapper has lately hyped up expectations by claiming that he’s “putting my all into this album” and that “this time i’m not playin.”
Uzi took to Instagram Story on Tuesday to ostensibly promote his upcoming release, writing:
“This time less talkin’ more working. Going back in classic mode. I been threw 2 much this time around. Nothin can break me.”
Uzi is said to be busy in the studio, according to Playboi Carti who recently told XXL in an interview that,.“Uzi is working on mad music right now.”
The Pink Tape will be the follow-up to 2020’s collaboration with Future on ‘Pluto x Baby Pluto’ album, which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 with 105,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
Uzi previously released his ‘Eternal Atake’ album in March 2020 but the project failed to meet critical and commercial acclaim, after which the Francisville-native promised fans that he’s going to take his time with ‘The Pink Tape’ album to ensure “it won’t suck.”
Since then, Uzi has been making guest appearances on tracks such as Yeat’s ‘Big Tonka’, Pooh Shiesty’s ‘Next Up,’ Pusha-T’s ‘Scrape It Off,’ and more.
Ahead of the albums release, fan may catch Uzi’s performance at the HARD Summer Music Festival in July, followed by his performance at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival which is set for August and will also include artists such as Jack Harlow, Pusha-T, Phoebe Bridgers, and others.
