Maya Henry, Liam Payne’s fiancée, has called off their engagement.
In a podcast interview with Steven Barlett on Diary of a CEO, the musician, 27, revealed the breakup, saying that he wanted to ‘work on himself,’ but was also concerned about ‘hurting’ Maya, 21.
‘I feel like more than anything at this point, I’m more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people,’ Liam remarked on the show, confirming that he is now single.
Liam proposed with a £3 million ring during the lockdown and the pair announced their engagement in August 2020.
Although the former couple still has each other’s photos on their social media accounts, the pair’s breakup was presumably in the works early on as they hadn’t shared photos of each other together since September of 2020, just a month after their engagement announcement.
In August, MailOnline exclusively revealed their engagement, before Liam later said he proposed during the first lockdown.
Liam was previously in a relationship with Cheryl Ann Tweedy with whom the singer shares a son, Bear Grey Payne. The couple’s high-profile split was announced in 2018 before he was linked to Maya Henry.
