Announced today, January 20th, 2025, the store is set to open its doors in Croydon on February 1st, marking an ambitious project that reflects their dedication to uplifting communities and addressing gaps in the grocery market.
Saveways is the result of a collaborative effort between Krept & Konan and entrepreneur Kaysor Ali, best known for founding the successful Steakout and Smacks Hamburgers franchises. The supermarket promises to redefine grocery shopping by offering an unparalleled range of products and services that cater to diverse cultural needs.

Spanning 15,000 square feet, the supermarket features specialist counters for fresh halal meat, poultry, exotic fish, and an in-store bakery. Shoppers will also find authentic global produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, ethnic foods, and a selection of Afro hair and beauty products. Saveways will also stock household essentials, cosmetics, and other everyday items, making it a one-stop destination for its customers.
To enhance the shopping experience, Saveways incorporates advanced technology such as NCR self-serve kiosks and a convenient click-and-collect service. Partnerships with Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat ensure that customers can have groceries delivered directly to their homes. Additionally, the store provides parking for over 30 vehicles and includes a wholesale section for businesses and bulk buyers.
The launch of Saveways is expected to have a profound impact on the Croydon community, creating over 30 jobs while addressing the lack of grocery options tailored to Black, Asian, and ethnic communities. Krept & Konan’s commitment to inclusivity and innovation extends beyond the store’s shelves, reflecting their deep connection to their roots and the people they serve.

Krept & Konan are no strangers to entrepreneurial success, having already launched ventures like Crepes & Cones, a popular restaurant, and Krept’s Nala’s Baby skincare range. Their legacy also includes multiple Guinness World Records and British Empire Medals (BEMs) awarded in 2020 for their contributions to music and community development.
Ahead of the grand opening, Krept & Konan expressed their vision for Saveways as a space where all customers feel represented. With its emphasis on diversity, accessibility, and innovation, Saveways serves as a symbol of progress and unity, offering a glimpse into a future where community and commerce go hand in hand.
