Kojo Funds is back with new music, unveiling his latest single “Ready”, released at midnight on June 17th. Produced by Pskyo, the track sees the UK artist reconnect with the Afroswing sound he helped pioneer, blending Caribbean and African influences with the warm melodies of Mediterranean guitar to create a summer-ready anthem.
Built around an addictive bassline and vibrant rhythms, “Ready” carries both romantic and motivational undertones. Funds describes the song as a double entendre, reflecting different aspects of his life and mindset. Whether it’s being prepared to face challenges, showing up for a partner, or taking a moment to acknowledge personal achievements, the track is rooted in confidence, resilience, and self-belief.
Speaking about the release, Kojo explained: “‘Ready’ is a track that was born out of expressing how I was feeling at a particular time. It serves as a double entendre for many circumstances. From being ready for any challenges I may encounter to being ready when it comes to pleasing my lady, or me being ready (already made) to acknowledge and celebrate my accomplishments; never boastful but more of a vocal pat on the back for always being prepared.”
The single marks a new chapter for the artist, signalling his re-emergence onto the UK music scene with a renewed sense of focus and maturity. While staying true to the signature sound that made him one of Afroswing’s defining voices, “Ready” showcases sharper songwriting and a more reflective perspective.
