The 28-year-old actress shared a glimpse inside the $30,000 (£21,600) event, which is famed for gathering A-listers from all over, and all 10.5 million Instagram followers were treated to a photograph of a soggy-looking salad served at Monday’s Met Gala.
Taking a break from her live stream for Vogue along with Ilana Glazer, Keke captioned the Instagram Story saying, “This why they don’t show y’all the food. I’m just playinnnn.” The image revealed the ingredients of the salad which included risotto, tomatoes, sweetcorn, cucumber, and a mushroom.

Charged with making this year’s all-vegan menu were various chefs from New York, namely, Chefs Fariyal Abdullahi, Nasim Alikhani, Emma Bengtsson, Lazarus Lynch, Junghyun Park, Erik Ramierez, Thomas Raquel, Sophia Roe, Simone Tong, and Fabian von Hauske. However, it would appear from Keke’s picture that her meal was prepared by Two Michelin starred Aquavit chefs Emma Bengtsson and Junghyun Park.
This year’s Met Gala comes after a canceled 2020 edition due to the pandemic and was moved from the first Sunday in May to September this year.
While the remains of Keke Palmer’s salad looked quite sad, the A-listers were previously served with various vegan cuisines including an Arancini with pumpkin Calabrian chili sauce and watermelon tart with smoked yuzu soy on a panipuri cracker.
They also had a dessert which included an apple mousse and confit with a calvados sauce, served in the shape of an apple.
So it wasn’t all bad for the guests who paid a whopping $30,000 (£21,600) for the event.
