Justin Timberlake joins a growing list of artists to sell their music catalog.
Moments ago, it was revealed that JT had sold his music publishing rights to Hipgnosis Song Management, and will see the firm retain, “100% of all of Timberlake’s copyright, ownership and financial interests of the Writer and Publisher’s Share of Public Performance income, and the catalog of musical compositions written by Justin Timberlake”.
The deal also gives Hipgnosis worldwide administration rights to the compositions, which are subject to the remaining term of Universal Music Publishing Group’s administration rights, which will expire in 2025.
Timberlake’s deal comes as another addition to the growing list of artists selling off their music publishing rights to the management firm, following the likes of 50 Cent, Timbaland, Shakira, The Dream, Pusha T, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and more.
The announcement comes as the 40-year-old prepares to release his first studio album since ‘Man of the Woods,’ which was released in 2018.
