The ‘UP’ rapper has evidently been winning this year, as a previous lawsuit filed against the rapper has been thrown out, due to lack of evidence from the plaintiff.
Blogger Latasha aka Tasha K who previously filed a countersuit against Cardi B in 2019, alleging threats, emotional distress, and assault have finally heard back from the court about her lawsuit and it’s not what she’d have hoped for.
A judge has dismissed Latasha’s complaint, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, since the plaintiff failed to offer evidence for any of her assertions.
Per the judge’s ruling: “[Latasha] has only made allegations that others who may be associated with [Cardi] made these threats,… and has failed to demonstrate here that the threats … were directed by [Cardi].”
Cardi was first to sue Latasha and Starmarie Ebony Jones for malicious remarks made online, which started the legal battle. Cardi was referred to as a prostitute by Latasha, who also claimed the ‘WAP’ rapper had herpes. Latasha would even go as far as to say that Cardi and Offset’s daughter, Kulture, would have “intellectual disabilities” as a result of Cardi’s alleged drug use while pregnant.
“I’m gonna sue you for defamation of character because I let that bitch play and talk shit about me, but when you talk shit about my daughter …” Cardi stated during an Instagram Live in 2018. “Bitch you a whole fucking weirdo … that’s 40 years old and pregnant too, and then all you can do is talk shit about me, ho. Fuck outta here.”
Following Cardi’s lawsuit, Latasha countersued only weeks later where the blogger claimed Cardi’s remarks not only harmed her career but also placed her life in risk, saying she received death threats after Cardi accused her on Instagram Live.
Despite the dismissal of the countersuit, TMZ says that Cardi intends to proceed with her defamation suit against Latasha.
