Following Warner Bros.’ recent news that a Superman remake is in the works, Star Wars star John Boyega has offered two names he believes might be appropriate for the part of Superman.

Boyega stated during The Hollywood Reporter’s Drama Actor Roundtable with Regé-Jean Page, Jonathan Majors, Josh O’Connor, and Chris Rock that he wants Page and Majors to be considered for the part of Superman.

“I want brother Regé as Superman. Or Jonathan,” Boyega said. “I want one of you guys to just go in there and fly. Just someone with knotted hair, fly.”

The interview comes after speculations that Michael B. Jordan may be cast as Superman in the forthcoming remake. However, Jordan told THR in April that he would not be auditioning for the part.

“It’s smart of DC to grab Ta-Nehisi to go ahead and adapt that project,” Jordan said. “He’s incredibly talented. It’s going to be worth checking out. I’m flattered that people have me in that conversation. It’s definitely a compliment, but I’m just watching on this one.”

Furthermore, THR claims that the studio is “committed” to finding a Black director for the upcoming film and has begun the hunt. THR speculates that Steven Caple Jr., who directed Creed II, J.D. Dillard, Regina King, Shaka King, Barry Jenkins could be on the list of potential directors.

Although some prospective filmmakers have met with Warner Bros. and DC to discuss the project, a Hollywood agent told THR that the project is still in its early stages.
