Jessie J was forced to cancel her Toronto show at the Danforth Music Hall at the last minute, putting fan safety ahead of performance as severe weather battered the region. Around 1,500 fans were expected at the venue, but heavy snowfall and dangerous travel conditions made the show impossible to proceed.
In a message shared on Instagram, the singer confirmed she made the decision herself, stressing that “safety always has to come first,” and asking fans to respect her choice even if they were disappointed.
At the time of the cancellation, Toronto and surrounding areas were under amber weather warnings, with snowfall reaching up to 60cm and temperatures plunging to record lows. Public transport services, including buses, were cancelled, and residents were advised to allow extra travel time if they had to leave their homes at all. Jessie explained that even getting to the venue was unsafe, noting that conditions were only getting worse and raising concerns about how fans would make it home in the dark.
“I don’t feel comfortable having people risk their safety for the show,” she wrote, acknowledging that while some fans might be upset, she believed cancelling was the right call. She confirmed that all ticket holders would receive full refunds and apologized for the disappointment, adding that she could not justify putting her audience in harm’s way.
The cancellation comes during an important period in Jessie J’s return to touring, as the songbird previously postponed dates amid her breast cancer treatment and reconstructive surgery. She later made a public comeback in September 2025 at BBC Radio 2 in the Park. Her current run includes seven North American shows, with UK dates scheduled for April in Birmingham, Manchester, and London.
Despite the frustration of a last-minute cancellation, fan response was largely supportive. Many expressed understanding and relief, while others asked for the show to be rescheduled when conditions improve.
