Jessie J appeared upset in a video update to fans on her singing career, which has been in peril since she was diagnosed with an inner ear disorder in December.

In an emotional Instagram post, Jessie reveals that she was requested to send a speech therapist a video of herself gently singing something so they could assess her voice, which had been affected since her diagnosis.

Jessie begins singing, her previously powerful voice now a fragment of what it once was, as she looks tearfully towards the camera.

“The first song I sang was I want love,” Jessie explained. “Just hearing myself sing it and feel so vulnerable whilst singing brought me to tears.”

“I have never ever to this day (since recording it) been able to sing it because of the pain I am experiencing. Man it’s been hard not singing. It’s literally my life line and my happiness. Being quiet is not something I’m good at. Or makes me feel like myself. Lord knows I’m loud af.”

The amazing singer reminded her fans that she had to be sincere with herself and with them about the severity of her illness, adding that it was “important to be strong enough to be weak. Especially on a platform like this”.

Millions of Jessie’s fans flocked to show support, as one revealed to her: “I actually love you! You are helping me through so much at the moment! Your lyrics give me strength.”

Jessie previously revealed to her followers that she spent Christmas Eve in the hospital due to her inability to walk straight or hear. She stated that she had been diagnosed with Meniere’s disease, an ear ailment that causes dizziness, vertigo, and hearing loss.
