Jay-Z joined Instagram for a day and, owing to his wife Beyoncé, has made history.

On Tuesday, 2nd November, the multi-hyphenate created a profile on the social media platform to promote Netflix’s newly released western film ‘The Harder They Fall,’ which he produced, starring Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, and Regina King.

Jay-Z quickly gained 1.9 million followers, including his wife Beyoncé, who remained the only user the rapper followed back.

Beyoncé also uploaded Jay-Z’s first-ever Instagram story, which featured a countdown to the film’s release, proving it wasn’t a mistake.

Just a day after the account went live, fans were left wondering when Jay’s account vanished from the platform.

While his account up though, Jay-Z fell short of David Attenborough’s record of the fastest person to gain one million Instagram followers, which he set in just four hours.
