In a statement, RRHOF Chairman John Sykes said: “This is our most diverse class in the history of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It really represents the Hall’s ongoing commitment to honor the artists that have created not only rock and roll, but the sound of youth culture.”

Turner and King are among the first women and artists to be inducted twice, as Turner was inducted alongside her ex-husband Ike Turner in 1991, while King was inducted in 1990 in a non-performer capacity alongside her former songwriting collaborator Gerry Goffin.

After several years on the nomination ballot, LL Cool J is inducted into the Hall of Fame with JAY-Z making the cut in his first year of eligibility.

Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Beatles, Janet Jackson, Notorious B.I.G., and Whitney Houston are among others who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

On October 30th, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony 2021 will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. It will be broadcast on HBO Max shortly after that.

Congratulations to all inductees on this major honour.
