According to Page Six, JAY-Z plans to reopen his Madison Square club in August and will be hiring 100 employees.

On Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., bartenders and servers will be sought for an open call. The waitstaff will be paid $20 per hour, much more than the minimum wage, while also being eligible for tips.

According to Page Six, “Jay is attempting to stimulate the food and nightlife economy in NYC” with the move. Following the pandemic, many nightclub and restaurant employers have struggled to get staff, according to the New York Post.

The news comes days after it was announced that Jay-Z and Will Smith have both joined forces with a new start-up company called Landis Technologies, in an effort to help low-income renters own homes within a relatively short period of time.
