According to reports, Kendall Jenner has been sued by Liu Jo, an Italian fashion brand, for allegedly breaching her contract to appear in two photoshoots. The contract which was signed in 2019, will see Jenner receive a payment of $1.5 million “plus a 20% service fee,” according to the outlet.

Court documents show that Jenner was legally obligated to undertake one photograph for Liu Jo’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign and another for its Fall/Winter 2020 campaign, among other duties, according to the Fashion Law.

Liu Jo claims that “by late September 2020, it became clear that Ms. Jenner had no intention to fulfill her obligations under the agreement by performing the second photoshoot [on a rescheduled date in] October 2020,” after she’d been paid $1.35 million prior to completing her services that was met with delays due to the global health crisis.

Jenner, according to Liu Jo, refused to respond to multiple messages from the brand regarding logistical planning for the shoot, before later claiming that “she was unable to travel to Italy due to her health concerns relating to the coronavirus pandemic,” yet the reality star was “at the same time…repeatedly reported to be violating CDC guidelines by engaging in multiple international non-essential trips and hosting large parties with her friends.”

Liu Jo is demanding at least $1.8 million in damages, according to the court document. Following the lawsuit, Jenner’s modeling agency, Society Management, informed TMZ that Liu Jo was causing the photoshoots to be delayed and that the lawsuit was unfounded.

“This suit is without merit,” they said. “The Society Management, on behalf of Ms. Kendall Jenner, has continually offered Liu Jo alternative dates and locations to fulfill an agreement that was forced to be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.”
