Hugh Jackman sent fans into a frenzy when he shared two Instagram posts earlier this week, which many suspects were hints towards Wolverine’s comeback.
BossLogic’s Wolverine artwork, as well as a photo of Jackman smiling with Marvel CEO Kevin Feige, were reshared by Jackman, who has played the mutant for over two decades.

Fans assumed Jackman was hinting at Wolverine’s long-awaited return to the MCU, either in a cameo or as a main character. From 2000 to 2017, Jackman’s X-Men persona was featured in nine films, just two years before Disney purchased 20th Century Fox.
Marvel Studios was able to reclaim the film rights to the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Deadpool as a result of the $71.3 billion merger. Fans quickly began to wonder if the X-Men will be integrated into the MCU. It was absolutely a possibility, according to Bob Iger, then-CEO of Disney, who acknowledged Feige already had ideas for how he would bring the X-Men into the MCU to the Hollywood Reporter.
Jackman told MTV News in 2018 that he decided to leave Wolverine as he had been doing it forever. However, he also stated that he wasn’t entirely averse to resurrecting his character.
“The Avengers would prove too much to turn down,” Jackman said in 2017, according to Comic Book News. “Because I always love the idea of him [Wolverine] within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man, but there are a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know. At the moment, honestly, if I really did have them there, I probably wouldn’t have said this is the last [about Logan]. It just feels like this is the right time [to leave the character].”
Having X-Men or Wolverine for that matter, join or participate in the MCU will be a mind-blowing move that is sure to excite MCU fans.
Do you think it was an innocent tease or is there truly a comeback for Wolverine in the works?
