According to reports, Howard University is going to introduce a masterclass in honor of Chadwick Boseman.

According to TMZ, the school’s president, Wayne Frederick, has begun working on plans to launch a masterclass at the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, which was just re-established and rebranded.

According to reports, Chadwick contacted the school with a proposal for a program to teach students about the entertainment industry prior to his passing in 2020. He seemed eager to get his hands dirty with the project and had already signed documents confirming his participation.

Later this year, students at the fine arts institution will get a new curriculum, developed in collaboration with a number of industry professionals. Guest lectures have long been a part of the university’s program, but the new Boseman-inspired masterclass will weave these speakers into the education and assignments. The masterclass will be led by Dean Phylicia Rashad, a mentor of Boseman’s and the new head of the fine arts college.

Chadwick’s family said of the development: “Chad fought to preserve the College of Fine Arts during his matriculation at Howard and remained dedicated to the fight throughout his career, and he would be overjoyed by this development.

“His time at Howard University helped shape both the man and the artist that he became, committed to truth, integrity and a determination to transform the world through the power of storytelling.”
