Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems has unveiled a self-directed music video for her latest track, “Me & U.” In the video, filmed in Malta, Tems explores themes of self-discovery, building a genuine connection with a higher power, and gaining a more authentic understanding of oneself.
“Me & U” marks Tems’ first official release in two years and her first this year, following her notable contributions to Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” song “Move” and Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack last year. Additionally, her vocals were prominently sampled on Future and Drake’s track “Wait for U.” Tems received an Academy Award nomination for her songwriting on “Lift Me Up” and clinched the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance as a credited artist on “Wait for U.”
