Olivia Rodrigo has released a brand new music video for her track ‘Brutal’ and if it’s any indication of her MTV VMA performance, fans are in for a wild ride.

The Petra Collins-created visuals send fans into a glitchy, retro realm which sets the tone for the ’00s pop-star vibe which is seen throughout the video.

The #MadeOniPad music video manages to recognize and celebrate women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and depicts the effort that goes into being a woman, even at Rodrigo’s young age of 18.

Rodrigo is seen performing all of the elements of the machine in an aesthetic that is reminiscent to Rina Sawayama’s “XS” video. She plays a young star who is being “exploited,” while the media sensationalizes the situation, only fueling a disillusioned teen who is absorbing all of these conflicting signals via her iPhone.
