Ahead of the July 1st release of their upcoming double-disc opus, ‘Mercury – ACTS 1 & 2,’ Grammy-winning band Imagine Dragons has unveiled a brand new single, titled ‘Sharks,’ along with its cinematic visuals.
Sharks arrives ahead of the imminent release as one of four recent releases including ‘Bones,’ which has already garnered over 121 million Spotify streams and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. ‘Enemy’ which was released prior to the aforementioned hit single, has amassed over 1.6 billion combined streams across two versions (including a feature with GRAMMY-nominated, East Atlanta-based rapper J.I.D).
Imagine Dragons is also set to embark on a massive US stadium tour in August following the release of their highly-anticapted ‘Mercury — ACTS 1 & 2’ album, and will kick off in August, with stops in Boston, Toronto, Las Vegas before concluding in Los Angeles, California, in September. The forthcoming tour will also serve as the bands biggest North American show ever.
Speaking of their latest single, Imagine Dragons’ frontman, Dan Reynolds, said:
“With the ‘Sharks’ music video our goal was to represent our hometown in the light it deserves – a city of passion, entertainment and art. Always awake and eccentric. Always an adventure to be had. As a third generation Las Vegan, I love this city and owe our success to it. They have always championed us. ‘Sharks’ pays homage to the city we call home. Las Vegas.”
