FLO have released “Don’t Break Her Heart,” the latest single from their upcoming sophomore album Therapy At The Club, out July 24th.
The track was produced by Julian Bunetta and co-written with Steph Jones, and it does what FLO do well — takes a fairly universal feeling, in this case the instinct to protect the people you love, and turns it into something you want to play repeatedly. The trio called it their “favourite sisterhood anthem,” adding: “It really encapsulates our love for each other and the lengths we are willing to go to protect the hearts of our sisters.”
The video, directed by Troy Roscoe, plays it for laughs, as FLO investigates a cheating boyfriend, which is a premise that fits the song’s energy without taking itself too seriously. It sits alongside “Leak It,” released back in March, and a cinematic trailer and title track that dropped in May. The album is evidently shaping up to have a consistent point of view across the run-up.
The single arrives during a busy time for the trio who recently appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland, with Outland Music Festival in West Hollywood coming up next, as is a support slot for ATEEZ at BST Hyde Park on June 28th. Also, in July, immediately before the album drops, FLO are are set to embark on a slew of intimate UK shows under the name Therapy In Session — acoustic sets and Q&A sessions across Kingston, London, Bristol, Nottingham, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, and Glasgow. Tickets are already on sale.
