Central Cee has wrapped up a milestone year with the release of “Booga”, a gritty new single produced by Roddy Beats, Arthur Bean, Young Chencs, and Smokey Jam. The track finds Cench in sharp form, delivering swagger-filled lines like “Where the demand is, I’m gonna supply” and “I watched Slumdog Millionaire and relate to the kid from Mumbai.”
The single is paired with a Don.Prod–directed video, complete with cameos from UK icons Skepta and Finessekid, reinforcing Central Cee‘s place in the lineage of British rap heavyweights.
“Booga” arrives nearly a year after the release of his debut album Can’t Rush Greatness, which dropped in January and earned critical acclaim for its honesty and clarity.
Beyond the music, Central Cee has also become an unexpected face of Gen-Z’s latest viral fashion wave: the “Quarter Zip and Matcha” trend. After posting a TikTok wearing a quarter-zip sweater while sipping matcha — an aesthetic previously associated with finance bros — fans joked that they could “smell the prices of quarter zips skyrocketing.”
This year also saw Cench hit major career highs, with his performance alongside Drake during the rapper’s three-night Wireless Festival takeover and made MOBO Awards history, winning Best Male Act for the third consecutive time. He now sits level with Stormzy as the most decorated rapper in MOBO history, with seven awards each.
