Tems has made a powerful comeback with the unexpected release of Love Is a Kingdom, a seven-track EP that she largely produced herself, with additional production from GuiltyBeatz, AOD, and LONDON. Released under Since ’93/RCA Records, the EP marks her first major body of work since Born in the Wild.
To accompany the project, Tems dropped a visualiser for “Big Daddy,” directed by Jyde Ajala and premiering at 3 PM on release day. The stripped-back visual enhances the song’s mood, centering on her commanding presence and signature atmospheric style.
The EP’s seven songs — “First,” “I’m Not Sure,” “Big Daddy,” “Lagos Love,” “Mine,” “What You Need,” and “Is There A Reason?” — form an intimate, introspective collection that reinforces Tems’ ability to craft evocative, emotionally resonant music.
Since the release of Born In The Wild in June 2024, Tems has evolved into a global cultural phenomenon. She’s amassed over 23 million monthly listeners, more than seven billion streams, and upwards of 300 million YouTube views. In just a few years, she’s earned more than 90 award nominations — including an Oscar nod — and made history as the first African woman with five Billboard Hot 100 entries and the first Nigerian artist to win two Grammys.
