Sugababes have returned with their first single since 2023, releasing “Jungle” as an independent act after parting ways with their former label, BMG.

The trio—Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhán Donaghy—have re-established themselves as a major live act both in the UK and internationally, proving their lasting influence in the music industry.

After winning back the rights to their name in 2019, the group has been self-investing in their projects since 2011. Their new track, “Jungle,” draws inspiration from 2-step, garage, and alt-pop, showcasing their signature harmonies and deep-rooted London sound. Produced by Jon Shave, the single has been described as “unexpected” and “fun,” marking the start of a new musical chapter for the Sugababes, with more releases planned soon.

Determined to keep the momentum going, the group emphasised their commitment to releasing music consistently, avoiding long gaps between singles. The trio’s new approach coincides with their upcoming biggest-ever UK and European tour, set to kick off in April, including a major headline show at London’s The O2.

Reflecting on their journey, Sugababes opened up about the challenges they faced with record labels, the pressure to be more “likeable,” and their efforts to establish a strong identity in today’s industry. They also shared their experiences performing at Glastonbury, hinting at the possibility of playing the festival’s iconic Pyramid Stage in the future.
