For the melancholy release of ‘Deserts Miss The Rain,’ Sensei D aka DDark immortalizes grime singer, entrepreneur, and community advocate Xploder, aka Samuel Mensah, in a heartfelt and appropriate homage.
As the grime scene’s brothers, DDark was frequently seen under the close watch of his older brother Xploder as they navigated the music industry. They were both highly driven and regarded, and they recognized both individual and team accomplishments.
In recent years, Xploder aka Sam Mensah has shifted his focus, focusing on the frontline operations of his family’s bakery, Uncle Johns Bakery, which has seen him recognized for his smarts in publications such as Forbes Magazine and nominated for an Entrepreneur Rising Star Black British Business Award (BBBAward).

“it got to a point when I realised that legacy is important, so I sacrificed what I was doing and jumped in to help my parents and then became director,” Samuel stated in an interview with Melan Magazine.
He was not only a loving father to his only daughter Mya, as he was also an outspoken advocate for dads and black men in business, with his family creating a Gofundme website to encourage black entrepreneurs, which has since raised over £6000.
Samuel (Xploder) and Stefan (DDark) became significant black role models in business, music, and their local community as pioneers in the grime scene’s DIY mentality and proponents of Ghanaian culture in the UK. When the news of Sam’s death (due to COVID in January 2021) grabbed the headlines, it rocked the worlds that Samuel was involved with, and condolences flooded in on social media and in the press.
Sensei D/DDark has already piqued the interest of various music professionals such as Scott Storch and Fat Joe who have expressed their admiration for the tune after teasing a preview of it on his Instagram account. All earnings from the track , which is now accessible to download and stream in its entirety, will go to Xploder’s (Samuel Mensah) daughter Mya.
