Magixx has finally released his much-anticipated debut album, I Dream In Color, marking a major milestone in his artistic journey. Coming four years after his initial unveiling and following his previous project, Atom, from two years ago, this album represents the culmination of his creative evolution.

The release was preceded by the soulful R&B single “Winter & Summer,” a track that poignantly captures a character driven to madness by heartbreak. With its rich blend of R&B, neo-soul, and Afrobeat influences, I Dream In Color offers a powerful narrative that explores themes of romance, failure, rejection, and ultimately, the need for rebirth.

Drawing from his own life experiences and aspirations, Magixx describes the album as a vivid reflection of his outlook on the world. Throughout the record, he weaves personal stories with atmospheric sounds, creating a multi-layered soundscape that is both cathartic and celebratory.

Standout tracks like “Alchl” – featuring a treacly Amapiano beat crafted by Prosse – and “Sexy Lady,” which delivers an Owambe-inspired offering complete with talking drums and a dance break, underscore his versatility as an artist and vocalist. Magixx‘s fluid approach to songwriting and his distinctive vocals have already earned him over 400 million career streams since his debut in 2021, while his hit single “Okay” dominated as the most-streamed track of 2024.

In addition to the sonic journey captured in I Dream In Color, Magixx has been recognised as a rising force in the music industry, garnering nominations for ‘Rookie of The Year‘ and ‘Best Vocal Performance‘ at the Headies Awards, as well as ‘Most Promising Artist‘ at the AFRIMMA Awards.
